Chalk Paint at Craftrange.com

Standard

Good Morning all

Hope you are all well and happily crafting!!

Deb and I have been busy painting furniture – “Furniture” I hear you all saying, well we are having a ball. We are absolutely loving this paint – it covers amazingly with no preparation required before you can start.

I have tried a few different chalk paints including the top sellers. This in my opinion is right up there with them and if I am being honest it is above them all for ease of use and a definite chalky finish.

Seven Seas – Canada’s Crafters’ Companion at Craftrange – Coffee and Craft Club

Standard

Hey everybody,
My name is Carla and I am Gillian’s cousin from Canada. I am visiting and I have gotten to do some experimenting, making faux leather. Today I spent all day at the Coffee and Craft Club at Craftrange. It was great! What a nice bunch of ladies who welcomed me into the group.

I got started with Crafters Companion Kraft Card and sprayed it with glycerine and water and scrunched it up several times then ran it through the ebosser, after letting it dry thoroughly I took 3 colours of Distress Ink Pads and brushed them across the embossed card until I was happy with the look; sprayed it with Crafters Companion Spray and Shine; prepared a lining out of fabric and glued it in using Cosmic Shimmer glue. While that was drying, I prepared 3 signatures of paper to sew into my Faux Leather Booklet.
I decided to stamp a border stamp on some of the signature pages. To finish it up I will punch holes in the faux leather and the signatures and sew them together.

Meanwhile, my cousin Gillian was definitely not lazing around. She and her co- workers were busy preparing for the Craft Event this Saturday. Also Gillian made a sign for the new Chalk Paint that they have in store and is being demonstrated by Mark Gould on Saturday. I hear the stuff is all the rage!
After the staffs hectic day Gillian and I came home and I had a welcome LARGE cup of English Tea!GetAttachment (5)
Tomorrow I will post pictures of my finished Faux Leather booklet.
I am really looking forward to the demonstrations on Saturday, it is such a great opportunity to see the possibilities of all the wonderful products!
See you then!

Look What I’ve Made

Standard

Good morning Crafters,
Last week saw the arrival of DecoArt Chalk Finish Paint at Craftrange, it has only just been launched here in the UK and I felt it was my duty to trial it out – well someone has to!
What a dream it is to use, it goes on so smoothly and evenly, dries really quickly so that you don’t have to wait inbetween coats, which is great for all us impatient crafters.
It will cover most surfaces, wood, metal, walls, plastic, glass and card stock, and is ideal to distress. There is a range of varnishes and waxes to give you any finish that you may desire. Also, it is water based so there is no odour and the brushes are easy to clean. The only draw back that I can find is that you will want every colour. Nothing new there then!
So I had two tired looking stand chairs and transformed them into shabby chic . . . . . . .

Not bad for a first attempt. Everything I see now I think it could be painted with wonderful DecoArt Chalk Paint. My husband and I were fighting over the paint pot yesterday, I was finishing my chairs and he was painting our patio furniture. What a long way it paints, one pot has painted six chairs, at £5.99 per pot, what good value.
What would YOU paint?
Why not call in to see the beautiful colours available.
