Seven Seas – Canada’s Crafters’ Companion at Craftrange – Coffee and Craft Club

Standard

Hey everybody,
My name is Carla and I am Gillian’s cousin from Canada. I am visiting and I have gotten to do some experimenting, making faux leather. Today I spent all day at the Coffee and Craft Club at Craftrange. It was great! What a nice bunch of ladies who welcomed me into the group.

I got started with Crafters Companion Kraft Card and sprayed it with glycerine and water and scrunched it up several times then ran it through the ebosser, after letting it dry thoroughly I took 3 colours of Distress Ink Pads and brushed them across the embossed card until I was happy with the look; sprayed it with Crafters Companion Spray and Shine; prepared a lining out of fabric and glued it in using Cosmic Shimmer glue. While that was drying, I prepared 3 signatures of paper to sew into my Faux Leather Booklet.
I decided to stamp a border stamp on some of the signature pages. To finish it up I will punch holes in the faux leather and the signatures and sew them together.

Meanwhile, my cousin Gillian was definitely not lazing around. She and her co- workers were busy preparing for the Craft Event this Saturday. Also Gillian made a sign for the new Chalk Paint that they have in store and is being demonstrated by Mark Gould on Saturday. I hear the stuff is all the rage!
After the staffs hectic day Gillian and I came home and I had a welcome LARGE cup of English Tea!GetAttachment (5)
Tomorrow I will post pictures of my finished Faux Leather booklet.
I am really looking forward to the demonstrations on Saturday, it is such a great opportunity to see the possibilities of all the wonderful products!
See you then!
Carla

Indigo Blu has Arrived

Standard

Good evening crafters,
It seems to be that every day there are boxes of new stock arriving, the biggest problem is finding space for everything!
I must admit it is a nice problem to have.
Here are some of the Idigo Blu stamps we now have in stock:-

I am sure that you would get a lot of use from them all, my extra favourites are the ones with the borders on, in particular the Wild Meadow and Nature, oh and I think that the verse with the Poppy Meadow stamp is so beautiful.

The background stamps are all very versatile, I particularly like the Bubbles, Script, Honeycomb, Crackle Glaze and Script Music, teamed with the Bare Forest, Vintage Flourish or Stylised Flowers and the effects would be stunning.

You could use them with Pan Pastels, Distress Ink/pads, versamark, Wow! embossing powders, gilding flakes, gilding wax oh the list is endless and I need to get crafting, so I will love you and leave you.
As ever, if you cannot visit the shop please give us a call on 01282833091

Wood You Believe It!

Standard

Good evening crafters,
We have had a busy day here at Craftrange, Liz had the enviable task of decorating one of the new Candy Box Craft kits. There are Ink Pad Holders, Ink Bottle Holders, Pen Crates, Notelet Boxes, Deep Box Frames, 3D Birdcages and Candy Box Baskets.
What a dilemma, which would YOU choose? Oh, OK, I know you would choose them all, so would I!

Liz was like a kiddy in a Candy store (excuse the pun) but after much deliberation she opted for the Ink Pad Holder which stores 40 Distress Ink Pads.
Liz chose to decorate the holder with Distress Paints, walnut as a base coat, a second coat of lightly applied Antique Linen was followed with a final light coat of dry brush Broken China.

Would you believe it, what a lovely effect, don’t you agree?
There are still some scrapbook papers to be added yet, why not call into the shop to see the finished article for yourself.
I can see my craft room being kitted out with the ink pads on the wall, my pens in the pen crate and all my stickles, inks and paints in the bottle holders, how beautifully organised am I going to be.
As ever, for more information, you can ring us on 01282833091
