New Arrivals

Standard

Good morning crafters,

Yesterday we received a delivery from Katy Sue Designs, along with items we needed for resocking our wide range of silicone moulds there were some exciting new additions. We now have in stock the  Fairy Border , Baby Clothes Washing Line and Baby Teddy Bear silicone moulds which would all lend themselves to card making or jewellery too.

Then, also for cardmaking and scrapbooking, there are three pearl borders, rimmed, beaded and shallow.

What, other than icing, could you crafty people use in them? Why not try the new Hearty Soft air drying clay which is extra pliable and has a feather texture, or Fimo polymer clay, embossing powder, Ice Resin or Mod Podge glue sticks.

Please ring 01282 833091 if you have any queries or would like anything posting out to you. The launch date of our new web site is getting nearer, it will hopefully be the end of April.

Carry on crafting,

Gillian

Good Evening Crafters,
We are back, exhausted and excited from our trip to the Craft Hobby and Stitch trade fair in Birmingham. There were over 250 stands to drool over and lots of demonstrations to watch in awe. The first day we tried to look at EVERY stall to get an idea what we should buy and if there were any new trends.
Once back at the hotel we had a working evening meal, preparing orders to place and deciding which companies to revisit to place orders. It was almost midnight when we went to bed. I set my alarm for 6.15 and a message came up “the alarm is set for 6 hrs and 30 mins – not much rest for the wicked!
Breakfast at 7, leave hotel at 8, enter show at 9 with only 22 stalls to go back to!
There were a few demonstration of polymer clay (Fimo), some models but also beads, there were all amazing.

Other demonstrations included Spectrum Noir, Ebosser, Zentangle, Stamping, Mixed Media, Masking , Stencils and Sugar Craft to name but a few
So, what will you be seeing new in the jewellery section in the coming months?
We are expecting BEAUTIFUL diamante clasps which will team so well with the Tiara kits and components, new range of watch faces, new beads and charms.

We are still investigating new ranges of crystals and seed beads – watch this space!
Also we are all very excited about two new ranges of Deco Art paints, I can’t wait to get my hands on the acrylic paints which I feel will work so well on jewellery, there are four interference colours, which if small drops are placed onto a wet standard coloured base coat it will migrate and blend with the background and give amazing marbled enamel effects. Oh I can’t wait!
So, that is it for jewellery related stock, I will leave the crafty things for Janet to enthuse about.

What a Difference a Call Makes

Standard

Good Afternoon Crafters,

What a brilliant day off I had on Monday, my plan was dentist, shopping, housework and cooking the evening meal – same old!
I only managed the first two items on my list, I came out of the dentist to receive a message that there was room for me on the Fimo Workshop at Craftrange. That meant a quick dash to buy some groceries, take the washing out of the washer and then it was Craftrange – here I come!

Everyone had a wonderful afternoon

Everyone had a wonderful afternoon

What a wonderful afternoon we all had, we firstly made 9 white and 9 black beads, we were shown how to make them evenly sized (you could use the Mixing Ruler and Fimo Bead Roller). To decorated them we made 2 canes, one black and white swirl, the other white and black tube and used the Fimo cutting blades to slice the canes to decorate the beads. We made the first set of beads into a bracelet and took the second batch of beads home to make another bracelet.

Cratrange stock a wide range of Fimo, Fimo accessories and jewellery findings to make your individual creations into beautiful pieces of jewellery, so everyone had a great time stocking up on the must haves for Fimo bead making.
We each made 2 beautiful bracelets

To end the day well, hubby and I had a fish and chips supper and I made my second bracelet whilst watching Hayley leave Coronation Street.
What more could a girl want?
Can’t wait for the next workshop.

Pendant, brooch and earrings

Pendant, brooch and earrings

Good Morning Crafters,
A few weeks ago I was asked to make some scarecrow earrings and have been dragging my feet, not knowing how to make them, the dead line being Monday evening so on Monday morning I thought I had better get my skates on and try to make them out of Fimo.
It is a number of years since I used fimo and I wouldn’t class myself as an expert at all but I made a sample and now have a production line going to make earrings, pendants and brooches. I had a lot of fun making them. I hope you like them.
Craftrange carry the full range of Fimo and an extensive range of jewellery findings.
