The ladies all thoroughly enjoyed it, most of them bought A4 Magnetic Sheets, Frantage Deep Impressions White Embossing Powder (for a wonderful snow effect), Molly Blooms stamps and as any true crafter they HAD to increase their stocks of Copic Pens.

Demonstration Dilemma Resolved?

Standard

Good morning crafters,
Yes, we had an eventful day in the shop yesterday with Janet “helping” to get the shop floor organised. Despite her efforts we have completed the major moves and it is just a case of titivating, which we can hopefully do today, bearing in mind it is Topsy Turvey Thursday and I know that there is at least one delivery to get out. So, that’s the first hour taken care of!
Call in and see what we have done, I particularly like the Scrapbook. Cake Decorating and Ribbon sections

It looks like my Demonstration Dilemma will finally be resolved on Saturday! I am hoping to play with paper beads and Frantage and perhaps the Melting Pot. I can’t wait, I hope that you can call in and see what I produce.

The count down to my big adventure has started, six big sleeps and I will be on my way (only three working days). That’s a blessing as I have only packed one thing so far, no panic!
Don’t worry, I am hoping to blog whilst I am away, especially if I find any craft shops or ideas.
Each day I will give you a clue to guess where I am going. Todays clue is:- my passport is already packed.
WILL my demonstration Dilemma finally be resolved?

Demonstration Dilemma!

Standard

Good Morning Crafters,
I am in an enviable dilemma, every Saturday Liz and I take it in turns to do demonstrations at Craftrange.
We have the freedom to pick what we would like to demonstrate and it is my turn today.
Here is my dilemma, I had originally thought of die cutting shapes out of thick card,I would use the ebosser machine, it is lovely to use and ours is at a very competitive price at the moment. Next I could decorate them with embossing powders, (I may have to use the gorgeous Frantage kits again!) and then coating them with something to seal and make them glossy (I was thinking of using Glossy Accents). Mmmmm endless possibilities I would enjoy that.
BUT
I went into the warehouse of Michael Toms Stationers (our parent company) to find some paper balls for a customer, I have known about them for years but only today did I notice that they had holes through them. They aren’t balls they are BEADS! So, I am thinking, whatever you can do on a flat piece of paper you can do on a paper bead. The lovely colours of Alcohol Inks to give colour and embossing powders for texture.
Oh the possibilities are endless but the working day too short to do both, bearing in mind we also have a full day Molly Blooms Workshop and an 80% off sale, I have to decide What I am going to do?
What would YOU do?
Will I have time to do both?
Call in to see what I have decided.

Media Mixage meets Steampunk meets Frantage

Standard

Hi Crafters,
The weather is back to normal I see, but never mind its an ideal day to stay in and craft. Every cloud has a silver lining!
I had a wonderful day here at Craftrange on Saturday. I was given the challenge of demonstrating Spellbinders. Where to start – with the Media Mixage of course! My inspiration was bubbling over from all the tips and ideas that I gained from Ken Oliver when he visited our store recently.

I started by cutting the Spellbinder foil with a Spellbinder die and as one side of the foil is coloured and the reverse silver, I coloured the silver side with Adirondack Alcohol inks. When the ink was dry I embossed the shape in a Sue Wilson Embossing Folder.I then used a sanding block to remove the colour and go back to the silver. My first dilemma was which side to use, the embossed or debossed side. I loved them both.
Next I used a Frantage Encrusted Jewel Kit to create four layers to fit inside the Spellbinder Bezel. I used the Teal Colour Fragments, Teal Mica Flakes, Aged Teal Embossing Powder, Sky Blue Embossing Powder and Detail Capri Embossing Powder. Sounds lush doesn’t it?
Before filling the bezel with Ice Resin I cut the back off a Large Curved Petal Flower Charm and placed that along with a diamante on top of the layers and then I waited for the resin to set.
I could then go to town with Gilding Flakes, Duo Embellishing Adhesive, Glossy Accents, Tim Holtz Tissue Tape, Accent Beads, Self Adhesive Pearls, Steampunk Style Patterned Heart Charm, Feathers, Ribbons and Cords. From my Jewellery findings I used Head Pins, Oval Jump Rings, Chain, Bails, Seed Beads, e Beads and Glass Beads. You can use what ever takes your fancy just let your imagination run wild.
