A Busy Week of Workshops

Good evening crafters,

This morning saw eager ladies waiting in the foyer for the store to open, they were here to attend  the Lindsay Mason workshop. They had a wonderful time creating their designs.

The most popular products that they purchased were, of course the Maya Gold gilding wax, Inka Gold paints  and Mod Podge.  Look at their wonderful creations.

Indigo Blu has Arrived

Good evening crafters,
It seems to be that every day there are boxes of new stock arriving, the biggest problem is finding space for everything!
I must admit it is a nice problem to have.
Here are some of the Idigo Blu stamps we now have in stock:-

I am sure that you would get a lot of use from them all, my extra favourites are the ones with the borders on, in particular the Wild Meadow and Nature, oh and I think that the verse with the Poppy Meadow stamp is so beautiful.

The background stamps are all very versatile, I particularly like the Bubbles, Script, Honeycomb, Crackle Glaze and Script Music, teamed with the Bare Forest, Vintage Flourish or Stylised Flowers and the effects would be stunning.

You could use them with Pan Pastels, Distress Ink/pads, versamark, Wow! embossing powders, gilding flakes, gilding wax oh the list is endless and I need to get crafting, so I will love you and leave you.
As ever, if you cannot visit the shop please give us a call on 01282833091

Media Mixage meets Steampunk meets Frantage

Hi Crafters,
The weather is back to normal I see, but never mind its an ideal day to stay in and craft. Every cloud has a silver lining!
I had a wonderful day here at Craftrange on Saturday. I was given the challenge of demonstrating Spellbinders. Where to start – with the Media Mixage of course! My inspiration was bubbling over from all the tips and ideas that I gained from Ken Oliver when he visited our store recently.

I started by cutting the Spellbinder foil with a Spellbinder die and as one side of the foil is coloured and the reverse silver, I coloured the silver side with Adirondack Alcohol inks. When the ink was dry I embossed the shape in a Sue Wilson Embossing Folder.I then used a sanding block to remove the colour and go back to the silver. My first dilemma was which side to use, the embossed or debossed side. I loved them both.
Next I used a Frantage Encrusted Jewel Kit to create four layers to fit inside the Spellbinder Bezel. I used the Teal Colour Fragments, Teal Mica Flakes, Aged Teal Embossing Powder, Sky Blue Embossing Powder and Detail Capri Embossing Powder. Sounds lush doesn’t it?
Before filling the bezel with Ice Resin I cut the back off a Large Curved Petal Flower Charm and placed that along with a diamante on top of the layers and then I waited for the resin to set.
I could then go to town with Gilding Flakes, Duo Embellishing Adhesive, Glossy Accents, Tim Holtz Tissue Tape, Accent Beads, Self Adhesive Pearls, Steampunk Style Patterned Heart Charm, Feathers, Ribbons and Cords. From my Jewellery findings I used Head Pins, Oval Jump Rings, Chain, Bails, Seed Beads, e Beads and Glass Beads. You can use what ever takes your fancy just let your imagination run wild.

Gilding Flakes Cards

Here are a couple of sample cards  that were made on the demo day Saturday just gone.  We very often hold demonstrations at weekend to show different techniques.  This demo proved to be very popular.  The image was stamped with duo glue and gilding flakes were used to achieve the effect shown.  Any rubber stamps work with this technique, but the penny black rubber stamps that were used gave a really nice elegant finished card.
We  have a good range of the penny black stamps in stock and limited quantities of the various colors of gilding flakes and duo glue that were used.  It did  however prove to be so popular that I am sure we will be re-stocking on these items.  Just give us a call if you require any information on the products used and we can put them aside for you or post through mail order.  The red card that has been used as a border on one of the cards  is new in stock but flying out.  The depth of colour on this amazing card stock (12″x12″) has to be seen to be fully appreciated – it’s gorgeous.
