Sorry we have not been about for a few days, its been all go here at http://www.craftrange.com. We have been busy in the shop, planning to create space for all the new products we have coming in-store. Last week Deb, Gillian and I visited Stitches – UK’s equivalent to CHA, it’s the largest trade craft show in the UK where we get to visit all the major exhibitors stands to see the new products that are coming onto the craft market this year.
It was a great show with plenty to see and we have lots of new products that will be coming in-store over the next few months. Gillian is going to be blogging soon about the visit there and I will also have some posts and plenty of photos for you all to see.
On Friday and Saturday just gone I went on a Dreamweaver stencil teaching course at Woodware, totally amazing, fantastic and brilliant. I loved every single minute of it and learned so much – lets just hope I pass !! It was so informative and I have come away totally inspired, Lynell Harlow owner and designer of Dreamweaver stencils taught the class and she is truly an inspiration. Woodware hosted the class and I was well and truly looked after, Dorothy and Judith were as alway great hosts and fed us all very well so much so I think I rolled out of the building by the end of the second day! I have worked with Dreamweaver Stencils on and off for about 8 years now and will certainly be doing some samples for you all to see on the blog and in-store.
I am going to leave you with some amazing cakes, cupcakes and pop cakes that we saw at the show. I am sure that you will agree they are outstanding.

Well today is the new weekly challenge over at Woodware
Craftrange have set the theme of monochrome Christmas and if you take a daily look at the Woodware Blog you will see a different sample with this theme for the whole week.
I have chosen black and white (always a favourite) I have to be honest and say that I set of to do mahogany but black and white won.
I Have kept it simple but hopefully you will agree affective, the background stamp used is
WOODWARE MANY CHRISTMASES CLEAR MAGIC, designed by Jane Gill who is a much-loved favourite at Craftrange she is one lovely lady and talented to go with it.
The main stamp used is quite detailed and simply delightful, you can really set yourself in the scene and imagine snow all around. (Hope we get plenty of snow this Christmas!!) This stamp is by STAMPENDOUS and called TRAIN POSTCARD.
Both have been stamped with Black Versafine, I choose this ink because it really brings out the detail without blurring any of the image especially in the train stamp as it is detailed and I did not want to lose any of that.
Stamped on our specialist 300gsm ultra smooth cardstock and matted with black gloss card onto an 8″ x 8″ card. The edges of the background christmas wording have been distressed with black and the train postcard has been stamped out 3 times to raise the image
First stamped image – as a whole
Second stamped image – cutting the main image away, just raising the postcard and
Third stamped image – cutting only the holly out to 3D this and make the card complete.
Handy Tip when you are stamping the background, cut the card to size and stamp around the edges starting of in the top left corner and working round. This will create a gap in the middle (shown below) but this will be covered. Stamping it in this way gives you crisp lines of text instead of trying to line up the text and have it become uneven. I did choose what text would be showing around the edge and turned the stamp round to fit in with what wording I wanted showing.
Hope you can pop over to Woodware for a look and hopefully join in. If you would like any of the stamps/materials used to create this card please email me on firstname.lastname@example.org or give us a ring on Tel…01282 833 091.
Enjoy your day
Hope you all have a great day planned.!

I thought it would be nice to introduce Lynell Harlow to you all, Lynell is the “Stencil Queen”. Owner and designer of Dreamweaver Stencils, Lynell does some fantastic cards and uses techniques that really WOW. We are so pleased that Lynell will be joining us this Saturday 14th September for our free Craft Event. I know you will all adore her work, and it will be great to ask all of those crafting questions to the master herself.
Join us in welcoming Lynell this Saturday if you can. I am now getting really excited – I just love our craft events. Oh and don’t forget if any of you have Lynells books or dvd’s bring them along for signing.
